Dr. Masahiko Shibuya Discusses Nutritional Therapy for Chronic Pain
Dr. Masahiko Shibuya, Chief Director of Okuno Clinic Sannomiya Location has contributed another article on nutritional therapy and chronic pain to the September issue of Pain Clinic magazine, following his feature in the August issue. This time, he co-authored the piece with Dr. Toshiyuki Kaneko, President of the Orthomolecular Molecular Nutrition Medical Association (NPO), providing a clear and accessible explanation of orthomolecular nutritional therapy.
A key point Dr. Shibuya emphasizes in his work with nutritional therapy is the importance of nutrition counseling. Physicians analyze blood test data from a medical perspective to identify nutrient deficiencies. Meanwhile, nutrition counselors support patients by focusing on dietary therapy, guiding them toward a “practically achievable” level rather than imposing an ideal.
Dr. Shibuya believes that the true value of orthomolecular nutritional therapy lies in the collaboration and mutual trust between physicians and nutrition counselors. It is this partnership that allows the therapy to achieve its full potential.
